How time flies! It seems like only yesterday that I agreed to take over the site from Riikka - when in fact it was actually back in May. I was then busy catching up on everything Catalina Sandino Moreno and re-launched the site with a new layout and up to date information. Unfortunately, I’ve then somewhat lost motivation to keep running the site - mainly because I do maintain other sites as well. As said earlier this month I am determined to look after this site better in 2008. I’d like to thank all of you visitors for sticking around and baring with me. I hope you will continue to step by Introducing Catalina Sandino Moreno and remember, feedback & comments are always very much appreciated!

Best news:
Catalina being cast as Aleida, Che’s wife, in Steven Soderbergh’s two-film-project. She will be in both “The Argentine” and “Guerrilla” and I hope her part is large! (update)

Worst news:
This is actually something I forgot to update on. A New York Daily interview mentioned that Catalina was going to star on stage in Kenneth Lonergan’s new play, “The Messenger Star”. I suppose, they were referring to The Starry Messenger. It was due to play off-Broadway at the Manhattan Theatre Club this winter. Unfortunately, it was cancelled (read article).

‘The Hottest State‘ opens today in limited release in the US. I have 2 new Catalina interviews for you. Apart from other things we learn that Catalina’s role in ‘Che’ is the title character’s wife.

Apart from the layout I’ve tried to update all the pages with the most up-to-date information. I’ve also extended the Press Archive and added new pictures to the gallery. The site’s not yet fully back on track. There are more screencaptures & scans waiting to be added and the Video Archive has yet to be re-opened. However, I’m soon going on a short trip - again - and I really wanted to get this online. Please comment and tell me what you think! Thanks

Hello there! I have agreed to take the site over from Riikka (many thanks :1:) and I’m aware I’ll have to work hard to keep this the great place it is. A little something about me: my name’s Maria and I currently own 3 other websites Absolutely Sophia Myles, Stellar Matthew Macfadyen and See the Sun. I’ve been admiring Catalina Sandino Moreno’s work from a distance ever since I discovered her amazing talent in ‘Maria Full of Grace’. I will strive to give my best in bringing the site up-to-date and full of information.

The bad news is that I am currently very busy and will go on a short holiday later this month - so I’m forced to keep the site a bit longer on Open Hiatus. Update by Riikka: I have updated the whole site today, most notably the projects page with new information on Catalina’s newest movies. She is currently on the set of Love in the Time of Cholera in Cartagena and I added a couple of interesting quotes from her regarding the film. I also added further information on The Hottest State.

Update by Riikka: I am moving to back from Finland to Scotland this coming weekend to return to my studies. I do not have a new apartment yet so I will be without internet connection until I have found a flat, and had the connection activated again. Obviously I will not be able to make any proper updates during this time. It could take two weeks or a month… I don’t really know yet.

But fear not - Mariana will be updating the site while I’m gone so the site will remain active and up-to-date. And once I return, we’ll have a ton of rare goodies and a site revamp to look forward to!
