‘The Hottest State‘ opens today in limited release in the US. I have 2 new Catalina interviews for you. Apart from other things we learn that Catalina’s role in ‘Che’ is the title character’s wife.

I have a very nice surprise for you! ‘The Hottest State’ was released on Italian DVD July 24. You might wonder why when the film has yet to hit US theatres. But it premiered in Italy at the Venice Film Festival last year and saw soon thereafter a theatrical release.

I’m very happy to have been able to see the film. It is another showcase of Catalina Sandino Moreno’s talent - although her character Sara may not exactly be the character the audience is rooting for. But Catalina’s charm makes up for that. Although the film in my opinion couldn’t quite keep up to its premise I still recommend you watch it when you get the opportunity. The acting is superb throughout, the visuals beautiful and the soundtrack great.

‘The Hottest State’ will be screened at the Edinburgh Film Festival (running August 15-26)! Screening dates:

Thursday, August 16, 2007, 21:30
Friday, August 17, 2007, 17:10

For more information check out the film’s page at the official Festival site. It will get a Gala presentation, but no word on whether Catalina Sandino Moreno will be attending. Let’s hope so

The cast & crew of ‘The Hottest State’ enjoyed the New York premiere of the film yesterday. I’ve added some pictures of Catalina Sandino Moreno together with Ethan Hawke, Mark Weber and Sonia Braga. Mariana has also sent in a new portrait session - it was also taken yesterday during an interview for ‘The Hottest State’.
